CURRY-PUFF

Finally I managed to finish making 300 pieces of curry-puff (karipap). I've made more than that actually, in case I burn them while frying. They are now half-cooked, and safely stored in the freezer. It took me 2 days. Well, it wasn't 2 whole days, it was only like 9 hours or so (3 hours yesterday and 6 hours today). I made it with almost no help, just my husband gave me a hand by washing utensils, and he rolled the dough a few times.

EAT OUT

Yesterday was the first time we eat out for breakfasting. I was so happy because that was the moment I've been waiting for. I cook every single day (up to 3 times a day if it's not ramadhan) so I need to eat out sometimes. I'm not complaining, I enjoy cooking so much but I missed to dine properly at fancy restaurant. Wanting me to feel appreciated, my husband brought me to this place for breakfasting. He didn't literally bring me,as we cycled there.

Well, the place is not fancy though but I don't mind, as long as I don't need to cook or clean up after eating! The place called "EASIE", I pronounce as 'easy'. It serves chinese/korean noodles and some sushis. The sishes are definitely healthy and the service is very fast! That's why I like to popup there if I starve.

I ordered my favorite dish, small egg noodle soup and rice with sweet sour chicken for my husband. What makes Easi specia is, we can choose what we want to add in our noodle/rice. There are a few choices of sauce to choose, 5 types of veges and a type of meat/seafood of our choice and it's not expensive at all!

and it's now halal!

A Little Update

Yup..It's been more than a week since I updated this blog. I've been a wee bit busy. *sigh. With Aidilfitri preps and my daily activity and now I still have 300 curry-puff to make *double-sigh

I think I'm going to be a good girl this month because I don't plan to spend much for this raya...as we're going to London on October the 3rd... and I want to highlight that October is my birth month (on the end of October) so i want to save it to my birthday. I guess I could get MORE things that time..*blink *blink *blink

Before forgotten, because I might be more and more busy I would like to wish all of you SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI. Pardon me for being a little advance here.

ROERMOND

I thought I have to say "au revoir" to summer but the weather is beautiful today apart from a quite gloomy and rainy a few days before and I don't want to waste the sunshine so I decide to do my laundry. It's been pouring last week and it forced me to use the dryer which is what I do not prefer.

Yesterday was nice too,I went to Roermond to accompany one of our minister's wife. The minister was here for a meeting and he brought along his wife so I had to play my role to entertain the spouse of the delegation (people keep on asking me why wouldn't I work so that I can obtain some experience..and it is why I'm not allowed to work here!). We found out that they already went to almost ALL tourist spots so we decided to bring them to Roermond. I was freaking out because I never accompany any of minister's wife before. I was digging my wardrobe, my head was spinning, thinking of what to wear, how to behave and what to talk about!

What is so special about Roermond? Firstly, it is a city located near the border to the Germany at the south-east of the Netherlands. Most importantly, there is a fairly big FACTORY OUTLET called DESIGNER OUTLET ROERMOND over there. There are 101 outlets including designer brand such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Armani, Hugo Boss, CK, to name a few. There wasn't a big sale yesterday but we did found a great bargain. Here are some pictures:

On the way there, my husband sms-ed me. The sms said something like this "Sayang, a reminder for you, you must not buy your personal thing. Your duty is to accompany them, not to shop. It's not that I don't want you to but it's one of the rules and regulation". I said "OK" because I don't feel like shopping and I know that the big sales are over BUT...my boss' wife gave me refund on what I cooked during dinner with thr Royal Delegation last week so I did buy something. A nice top (at least it is nice for my eyes..) and 2 pairs of socks for my husband (that's my treat dear, but sorry only socks I could afford to buy...sob sob sob).

The minister's wife and her friends were so simple and humble, I don't feel awkward at all! They are warm and friendly, less protocol and that made me felt so happy!

A DEVASTATION

I've been dreaming to have the Shopaholic Series (from Sophie Kinsella) since the first book was released. I already have "the Undomestic Goddess" (speaking of it, now I remember a friend borrowed this book and hadn't returned it yet) and "Can You Keep A Secret". Now waiting to but "Remember Me" (I couldn't find the small size of it. The big size are everywhere). So, last week, on the way back from Malaysia, I bought 2 books from the shopaholic series which I planned to read while waiting to take off of killing my time at the airport. Guess what did I buy? I bought these:

Yup, as you all can read, it's a picture of "The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic" and "The Confession of a Shopaholic". And to my surprise, well, I wasn't surprise but I went mad, really mad...upon knowing that they are the same!! I don't know why on earth they would give two different titles for one same book. Well, they aren't one book but the content is the same. I feel trapped or is it what they trying to do? Try to trap readers who are over excited to have the series. Now I have to think to whom should I give this book because most all my friends already read it. I better give it to somebody as soon as possible before I tear it apart or burn it out.

For those who is planning to buy the series just buy either of this. Don't make a mistake like me. Same goes to "Shopaholic Abroad" and "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan". These two books are also the same. Well, come to think of it the Sophie Kinsella books a bit illogical. If you already read her book you know what I mean. The books are hilarious and entertaining but the plot is quite ludicrous. For instance, how can a lawyer can just go to a house and cannot speak up that she's not coming for an interview (it's in undomestic goddess). That's one. There's more actually...in every of her book. Yes I know it is fictional but can it be more realistic? Otherwise it should be science-fiction of fantasy novel like The Chronicles of Narnia (I love it!). I'm having a second thought of having of all the series or I'll just have the just to know what's the ending of that unthinking Rebecca Bloomwood (oh, i don't like the character too). I think she's quite lucky because a millionaire (Luke Brandon) has a crush on her. Maybe I'll buy the series because of it...Ok, enough..I have to control myself..I'm fasting..otherwise my puasa kurus you..
